We are SO excited to have Miss. Kenzie join our ODF team!

Miss Kenzie has been dancing since she could walk. At the age of 3, her parents registered her in her first dance class, not knowing that it would lead to a lifetime of classes. She has studied in the disciplines of jazz, ballet (Cecchetti, Vaganova, ISTD, and RAD) lyrical, hip-hop, contemporary and pointe work.

At the age of 12, Miss Kenzie began participating in her studio’s student teaching program and moved to Overdrive where she student taught throughout all of their first and second years and still continues to gain experience through student teaching now. She has been given the amazing opportunity to teach her own classes and couldn’t be more excited!

Miss Kenzie began competing with a competitive team at the age of eight and has competed all over Alberta, Saskatchewan and British Columbia. She has also competed at 5 separate World of Dance events in Arizona, Seattle, and Edmonton. One of her biggest accomplishments at these out of town competitions was taking home 1st place in the youth division at World of Dance Arizona 2017 with her team from Eye Candy Studios, under the direction of Vince Akinyode.

Over the years, Kenzie has attended workshops and classes to further her dance experience and knowledge, such as Groove Street Productions. Along with the workshops, Kenzie has been apart of local performances including multiple Festival of Trees performances, Children’s Festival, and other small shows around St. Albert and Edmonton.

In the summer of 2017, Miss Kenzie attended the Pre-Ballet and Junior Grades Classical Ballet Progressions of Canada Examination course, giving her the certification to teach young ballerinas from the age of 4 to pre-teen the syllabus designed by Margaret Flynn. This is an internationally recognized syllabus that gives dancers a great background for any style of dance, with the opportunity to work towards examinations, or just bettering their technique and foundation.

If Miss Kenzie can’t be found at the studio, you can probably find her in the mountains with her parents or at home curled up reading or watching movies!

From a young age, Miss Kenzie knew that she wanted to teach and she is now living out this lifelong dream! She can’t wait to work with the children and help them find the passion that her teachers helped her to find!
